I was raised in a Pentecostal chur...Love that hymn! I was raised in a Pentecostal church and am a Pentecostal preacher's wife :) We were missionaries to the Baltic country of Latvia and just returned this week from a three week visit for their General Conference. I have a Pentecostal Praises book somewhere in the house, lol and can probably sing most of the verses to most of those songs! Of course, like most churches, we don't sing out of the hymnal much anymore, but I do love how some of the songwriters are taking the old hymns and putting them into new choruses, praise God they are bringing them back! <br /><br />When we pastored and I was playing the piano, my son was learning to play guitar, I always insisted we do at least one "songbook song" as he called it, begrudgingly...but he now, as a worship leader himself, will bring the hymns into his contemporary music!
