I am so glad that God is bigger than all our problems and fears.

My husband and I have not been to church in over 25 years due to some abusive situations and how we were treated.

What grieves me most is that those who are entrenched in complementarianism or patriarchy show little love or tolerance for those who do not.

I have been banned from sites such as Bibical Gender Roles and Transformed Wife for sharing my story and disagreeing with them. According to them I am the one in sin and missing out on the blessings of God because i do not follow their ways. How sad they cannot see that- even if they were not in error -that they show little love for those of differing opinion.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131455314616817615.post-90025763365531585452014-10-17T22:28:22.647-04:002014-10-17T22:28:22.647-04:00I think it is great that you are sticking with the...I think it is great that you are sticking with the church even when they have hurt you in the past. Not all churches are the same--that's for sure! I pray you are able to see and experience God for who He truly is, not who He may have been portrayed to be. I..."I write to stay sane." - Hear, hear! I know that feeling well, when finding the path away from abusive authority. Sometimes all we can do is stay on top of the chaos in our lives, hearts, and minds, and try to ride out the wave, hoping it will all settle down eventually. And it always does, although perhaps not according to our timing.

I applaud your honesty and courage in standing up to the corruption in our churches and religious leaders. May your voice and proof of path lend strength to one who is still seeking and bewildered.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1131455314616817615.post-10399161027807957482014-04-16T01:27:30.417-04:002014-04-16T01:27:30.417-04:00Virginia, thank you for sharing your thoughts on t...Virginia, thank you for sharing your thoughts on these things. I would homeschool again in a heart beat but I have learned that some of the things somehow connected with homeschooling don't hold the water we thought that it did.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13082187789450193644noreply@blogger.com
